Make sure you are dedicating your heart to honoring your husband. As with any change we make in our lives, we have to DECIDE to make the change and then COMMIT to doing it.
Make sure you are showing respect to your husband. Ephesians 5:33 states: “Let the wife see that she respects her husband.” How do you treat your husband each day? Do you ASK him to do something or do you TELL him? Do you show respect in your conversations with him? Do you look him in the eye and REALLY LISTEN when he is talking?
Make sure you respond to what your husband says in a positive way. If you find yourself constantly nagging, criticizing, or correcting your husband, keep in mind that it is more positive to say NOTHING than to speak negatively. Once you have managed to stop the negative responses by keeping quiet, you can then try giving short positive responses. This will lead you to becoming more positive in your responses on all issues – big and small.
Through it all, keep in mind that your husband is a special gift to you from God, who has brought him into your life to fulfill you personally and spiritually. Every time you honor your husband, you are honoring God.
